“This home is spectacular. Truly an oasis during our incredible stay in Chania. We enjoyed meals on the deck with amazing views.

The home was beautiful, perfect size for our family of four and my parents who stayed in the second apartment which was nice for extra quiet and peace. The yard is beautiful, we enjoyed the apricot tree and garden as well as the kitties that stay there. Natalia was a gracious and kind host, very available, accommodating and helpful with suggestions for restaurants and places to visit.

We did not want to leave and would go back tomorrow. Exceptional stay!”

“We had a very enjoyable stay at Natalia's House by the Sea. Natalia was there to greet us when we arrived and was very helpful through out the process.

The house is just across from the beach and there are beautiful views of the water and boats from the outside deck and from the living room area.

The upper level house has beautiful terrazzo floors and was quite nicely styled. The kitchen is very clean and well equipped for cooking. There were nearby markets and restaurants and driving into Chania was very easy. We were two couples traveling together and we each stayed on different levels of the house to sleep since we preferred not sharing a bathroom.
We gathered on the upper level to socialize and cook since it was brighter and more spacious than the lower level space. The house would work really well for families as it's large and has ample bedrooms.

The outdoor area is really exceptional. There is one shaded area with a large table and another on the front deck, overlooking the sea. The backyard garden is charming and spacious.”

“This secluded property sits across a small street from the beach which was great...
Nearby you have a place to have a tasty lunch and the supermarket is only minutes away... There is secure parking for two cars....

The property features lower and upper living areas which have different entry points... My family used both...
The living space is huge... both indoors and outdoors... The beds and bathrooms were adequate and we had no issues with the A/C... We started using the outdoor shower which was more comfortable and refreshing to use...

Natalia the property owner greeted us and gave us a walkdown of the property... along with providing us with pastries to eat and vegatables from her garden... She was always very attentive during our stay and addressed any issues we had.... We wanted to grill outdoors but it seemed like it was too much effort.... so we never did....

Overall its an ideal spot for a large family or party....”

“Im Dezember 2019 haben wir das Haus für September 2020 gebucht. Aufgrund der Pandemie durften wir Problemlos auf 2021 verschieben. Wir haben uns alle (5 Erw. und 2 Kinder) auf den Urlaub gefreut und diesen sehnsüchtig herbei gesehnt. Unsere Erwartungen wurden mit diesem Haus und der Lage übertroffen.

Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet, egal ob in der Küche oder im Bad, alles was man braucht war vorhanden. Das Haus hat mehrere gemütliche Sitz- und Essmöglichkeiten für ein geselliges Miteinander. Alles war picobello Sauber und sehr gepflegt. Die Fenster sind mit Insektenschutz und teilweise mit Jalousien ausgestattet. Somit waren die Nächte auf den sehr guten Betten auch sehr erholsam.

Der Strand liegt direkt vor der Tür. Was wir auch sehr genossen haben, waren die zum Haus gehörenden Liegen und Sonnenschirme. Somit waren wir auch ein wenig für uns. Fazit: Ein super ausgestattetes und gepflegtes Haus in super Lage mit phänomenalem Ausblick. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Nicht zu vergessen die liebevollen Besitzer. Danke Natalia für die unvergesslich schöne Woche”

“Our stay at the "House by the sea" was nothing but amazing. It was a real spectacular stay. The house is located in an exceptional great location, some 10 meters from the beach.

The house is beautiful, with great touch and taste and sea view from many of the windows. The entire house is exceptionally maintained and the rooms are Very large, with fantastic garden and an exceptional generosity and friendliness hospitality by Natalie and her husband – These all together made the stay for us as one of a kind.

The house is equipped with anything you may think of. Such a pleasure and what a fantastic people.
Thank you for having us ! I can just highly recommend on the stay at this house.”

“We had a wonderful stay at the "House by the Sea" and Natalia was a very welcoming host. We were in the upstairs part of the house and enjoyed the fantastic views of the beach and sea, from both inside and on the terrace.
The proximity to the sea is one of the stand out features of this house and the beach itself is lovely and visited mostly by locals. The area is not overly touristic and has a very local feel to it. The beach bar opposite the house is handy for coffees, soft drinks and beers and there is a small supermarket just up the road.

The house itself is fully equipped and the kitchen had an impressive amount of crockery and glassware . Small things like dishwasher tablets, washing powder, soaps etc. were all provided. The garden area is also lovely and we enjoyed using the table tennis table.

In short , if you are looking for somewhere to stay that feels "like home", with a local vibe and amazing proximity to the sea, then I would highly recommend a "House by the Sea"”

“Big, nice and well maintained house with a spectacular view, right on the beach. The beach is not too busy, and good for children. The bus to the city center leaves right outside the door, and takes 10 minutes. Note that it is not two separate houses, but one house with a downstairs apartment.

Downstairs is nice too, but the standard and spaciousness is not the same as upstairs. Brand new windows that allow total darkness or full ventilation with build-in mosquito nets provide good comfort during the night for both children and adults. Most bedrooms also have air condition. You could experience a little traffic noise as the road is the only thing between the beach and the house, but this was not a problem for us. Bed sheets and towels were changed during thorough cleaning halfway through the week. Good WIFI.”

“This house was better than we expected! We had a group of 10 people and the location was perfect access to the beach yet private and very safe! The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen deck and outdoor areas were more than sufficient!! The restaurants and stores were within walking distance and more restaurants just a short cab ride away, there are also more beach areas for smaller kids not far down the road!
Natalia was attentive and friendly and even came at our 6 am checkout to see us off!! We didn't use the pizza oven but it was a cool option!! The ping pong table entertained the teenagers for hours when they were done at the beach! Old town was only a bus or cab ride away (7 euros for a cab)! We did rent a car and drove to Pink beach that was not so pink, but it was a fun drive and beautiful calm warm water!
Thanks Natalia for an amazing place to stay--the sunrises were to die for!”

“We were a group of five, spent 4 days in Natalia'a place. The house is amazing, and photos really don't do justice to this wonderful place. It is right by the sea, with a huge porch which has a perfect view. The living room is huge with a fireplace which we have used, there is a very big garden with a bbq and a stone oven setup. There is also a ping pong table. We spent a whole day in the house and honestly we wanted to spend more.
The location is also great. It is 3 minutes to Chania centre by car. But if you don't feel like leaving this wonderful place, the sea is right in front of you, there are cafes and super markets in walking distance.
On top of all this, Natalia was an amazing host. She was very attentive to our needs. She always picked up the phone whenever we needed her. She did her best and more to make us feel welcome in her lovely, cosy house.”

Amazing outdoor space with large yard and awesome, large swimming pool and two outdoor showers with hot water! The house itself is functional, top apartment is great, air conditioning in every room, nothing fancy but everything you need. Second bathroom and two more rooms in the basement apartment which we didn’t use very much. 2 miles / 15 min driving away from downtown Chania. Close to supermarkets

Athena AktipisWe had such a wonderful time at The House By The Sea. I took my family here for part vacation time and part writing retreat for me and it couldn't have been better. There was plenty of space for everyone, including quiet space for me to write. Natalia is an amazing host and takes such good care of the property and her guests. The location is perfect, the house and garden are lovely and every year Natalia makes things even better - this year there was a wonderful new pool. This was our second time back and we will definitely be back again.

George -September 2022We loved the place! It is 30 yards away from the beach. A spacious living and family rooms, huge backyard. There are a few good walks to other beaches, we also walked to Chania which took us 25 min. We rented a car but there is a regular bus service to the city.

Anastassiya - July 2023We had great holidays in the villa with our entire family. The villa was great, very cozy, nicely decorated and one can see that the owner cares personally about the house. Pool was added to the villa this year and is great! It is between 1.5m and 1.6m deep and it is great alternative to the beach on super hot part of the day. Kids didn't want to leave the villa to go home and that speaks for itself. Location is superb, directly by the sandy beach, local bus that takes you to Chania City (15min ride) stops directly next to the house. Fabio was super helpful during the booking and organising our transfer from and to the airport. We have received extensive list of recommendations for the restaurants and activities which was super!Very quick and friendly communication. Natalia the owner was also available on the spot for check in and detailed information about the house. She is also very friendly and was available in case of any questions.
